Network Monitoring Information Page
Network Monitoring
The PPNCG provide wide area network monitoring from both the
Daresbury Laboratory and the Rutherford Laboratory for
the HEP community. Currently more than sixty sites around the world are monitored on a regular
basis and the output from this monitoring can be viewed directly via your web
browser. For each site monitored, round-trip time and packet loss information is recorded
and stored. This allows both recent and historic data stretching back several years to be
viewed directly to show the current network performance and see how network performance
has varied over the longer period.
The network monitoring makes use of the PingER
tools developed at SLAC as a part of their
Internet monitoring programme.
The data collected in the UK can therefore be seen in the wider context of providing
information on network performance throughout the Internet and links are provided into
this larger collection of monitoring information.
Please return to the PPNCG home page or view the
network monitoring available from either the
Daresbury Laboratory or from the Rutherford
Laboratory.
